Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection
The M20B23 debuted in 1977, it was an evolution of the 2-liter M20, with respect to which it was differentiated by the different measurement of the stroke, rising to 76.8 mm. The power supply was K-Jetronic mechanical injection. The total displacement is 2315 cc. The maximum power went up to 143 hp at 5300 rpm, with a torque peak of 205 N · m at 4000 rpm.
This engine was mounted only on the BMW 323i E21 and produced only in 137,000 units.
